Mariah Carey robbed of £38k worth of sunglasses and designer handbags after he LA home is burgled

Mariah Carey has been robbed of £38,000 ($50,000) worth of accessories.

The Hero hitmaker's Los Angeles home was targeted by burglars at around 3am on Thursday and though they didn't touch her valuable jewellery collection, they made off with expensive bags and sunglasses.

Sources told TMZ the crooks seemingly got in through a window or door on an upper floor, as a ladder was found in the back yard.

No one was home at the time of the robbery as Mariah - who has six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon - is currently in New York.

The burglars tripped a silent alarm, but the 47-year-old singer's security team didn't discover the break-in until around 6 or 7am.

Mariah has joined a long list of stars whose Los Angeles homes have been burgled in recent months, with the likes of Jason Derulo, Scott Disick, Kendall Jenner, Alanis Morissette, David Spade and Emmy Rossum previously targeted.

Despite the high value, it is believed only around 10 items were stolen from Mariah, but it is unclear what they were.

The We Belong Together hitmaker recently showed off a bright pink Birkin bag, which was given to her by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mariah revealed the retired sports star gave her some very specific instructions about the gift, too.
She shared: "He told me every time someone asks, make sure they know it's a gift from Floyd."

And

giving her fans a tour of her home in a recent video for Vogue magazine, the singer also showed off her vast shoe and sunglasses collection.

Sipping champagne in the clip, she also revealed her most treasured possession used to belong to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.

She explained: "I have Marilyn's white piano upstairs in my living room and it's from when she was a child and it's my prized possession.

"I love the glamour. There's just something about that specific era where it's, like, magical."
